Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chefino (the “App”), a mobile application that helps users plan meals, generate recipes using AI, manage pantry items, and create shopping lists.

By creating an account and confirming your acceptance during registration, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

If you do not agree, you must not create an account or use the App.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• Minimum age: 16.
• If required by local law, parental or guardian consent is mandatory.
• Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
• Household features may allow shared access; users are responsible for managing who they invite and what data is shared.
• You are responsible for all activity performed through your account.

3. Service Description

Chefino provides features including, but not limited to:

• AI-generated recipe suggestions
• Pantry and ingredient tracking
• Shopping list generation
• Household or family sharing features

Features may change, improve, or be discontinued at any time.

4. AI & Food Disclaimer

• Recipes and suggestions are generated automatically using artificial intelligence and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
• Chefino does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, or health advice, nor does it guarantee allergen-free or nutritionally accurate results.
• All content is provided for informational and inspiration purposes only.
• Users are solely responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, quantities, and the suitability of meals for themselves and other household members.
• Chefino explicitly disclaims liability for allergic reactions, health issues, or damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content.
• Use of the App and its outputs is at the user’s own risk.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• Paid plans, prices, and billing cycles are displayed in the App.
• Payments are handled by Apple App Store and Google Play and are governed by their policies.
• Refunds are currently not offered.
• Pricing may change; users will be notified in advance via email.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the service or attempt to bypass limits
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the App
• Use the App for unlawful purposes
• Intentionally provide false, harmful, or misleading information, including allergen or dietary data

Usage limits may apply depending on your subscription plan.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly provide harmful or misleading input.

7. User Content & License

• You retain ownership of content you submit (preferences, pantry data, feedback, household information).
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and correctness of all data you enter into the App, including allergens, dietary preferences, pantry items, quantities, and household data.
• Chefino does not verify user-provided information. If incorrect or misleading data is provided, Chefino is not responsible for resulting recommendations or outcomes.
• You grant Chefino a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, and use this data solely to provide, personalize, and improve the service.
• Feedback may be used without compensation.

8. Third-Party Services

Chefino relies on third-party service providers for hosting, AI inference, analytics, notifications, and payments. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.

We use third-party infrastructure and platform services, including Supabase and Google Play services, for hosting, authentication, analytics, and crash diagnostics.

9. Availability & Changes

• The service is provided “as available” without guarantees of uptime or uninterrupted access.
• Features may change or be interrupted due to maintenance, updates, or third-party outages.

10. Termination & Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by clicking the “Delete Account” button in the app. After deletion, your personal account data will be permanently removed or anonymized within 30 days.

Aggregated or anonymized usage data (such as total recipe counts) may be retained for up to 12 months for analytics and service improvement purposes.

11. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable EU or local law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chefino’s total liability is limited to the amount paid by the user for their subscription in the last 12 months.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Czechia. Courts of Czechia have jurisdiction.

14. Apple & Google Disclaimer

Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and bear no responsibility for the App, its content, or user support.

15. Changes & Notices

Changes will be communicated via email with 14 days’ notice before changes take effect.
